The experience at ACE Rent A Car was extremely disappointing. Despite booking a car for a week, the receptionist was rude and unprofessional. Even after providing proof of insurance coverage, he refused to release the rental car and insisted on receiving personal information via email. This lack of customer service and trustworthiness makes ACE Rent A Car the worst choice for car rentals. I strongly advise against renting from them and will not be recommending their services to anyone.

Well, the car ran and got good gas mileage that’s about all the ‘good’ I can say. There were times when I felt like I didn’t know if I was going to make it through my trip with the car. You can tell that it clearly had been in an accident or something and then fixed is now being used as a rental. I got in and noticed immediately that it smelled like smoke and I suppose that can be a subjective thing, but there was also a burn hole in the driver seat.
When I got to the airport I noticed that they aren’t on site like all the other rental car facilities, they are offsite. You have to call for a shuttle and they come get you to go get your vehicle. So, I did that. When I called for the shuttle, I was told it would be 5-10 minutes and to wait in zone one. I asked one of the crossing guards exactly where to stand and she told me so I stood there and waited. After about 20 minutes I did see the Ace shuttle come flying through the 2nd lane without even thinking about stopping! I waited for a couple of minutes thinking perhaps it was a mistake and he was going to swing back around or something but when no one came after about 3 minutes or so, I called back.
It was at this point that the girl who answered the phone was so incredibly rude it blew me away. I told her what happened and she rudely told me that I must be standing in the wrong place or the wrong airport because the shuttle was just there. I said yes I saw that the shuttle just flew through here without even stopping, she said that she would send the shuttle back and I wasn’t standing in the right place then I must not be at the right airport and hung up on me! I was totally blown away that someone who acts like that has a front facing position dealing with customers.
Then the unfortunate and uncomfortable displeasure of being shuttled to the location where I got to deal with the young lady who treated me that way on the phone, but didn’t apologize for treating me that way on the phone. And I didn’t say anything until after my rental experience was over because I didn’t want it to affect me getting my deposit back, but I feel like I purposely got the worst rental car available on the lot because of it. The whole experience is really unfortunate, especially after the last 24 hours of travel leading up to that point and everything I had been through to get to Charlotte. I was exhausted and just wanted to get to the place where I was staying.
Anyway, I could barely see the speedometer or the gas indicator. I don’t know how or why the inside plastic was so dirty or whatever but you can’t see or even clean it. The car was dirty inside and smelled of smoke. I did take a couple pictures just to protect myself in case they said that I returned it and that way. And then I actually had to clean a couple things myself because it was just that bad. There were a couple times when it started making weird noises and I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to make it back from one of the day trips I took. So, that was my experience with Ace rental unfortunately.

Worse rental car company in the US, used many different companies never had a problem, they lie to you in order to make you purchase insurance. When you arrive to pick up the car they make it almost impossible to take the car without paying for insurance. 6 days to hear back from a manager after several phone calls. Some of their vehicles are old and not well maintained, never renting a car with Drivo, Ace, Fox. They are the same company.

I rented from ACE at ATL. The car smelled like weed, but other than that it was fine. I returned the car, and I asked them to go through the return process with me however they said we've got this, just go to the airport, so I left. I got an email of my receipt about an hour later. I was already in the airport, they had claimed my car was not refilled with gas. I had just filled it up and have the receipt, when I called, they said there was nothing they could do except through email. I was like are you kidding me? I have to prove this now and you're going to charge me 181 extra dollars for a car I already put gas in. I had this car for less than 24 hours. I drove it for 4 hours. It took 9.5 gallons to fill. I called my credit card company and now we are disputing this charge. Anyway, I would highly encourage anyone to find any other company and pay the extra 20 bucks for a reputable rental car company. This is crazy.

We rented a car for 5 days and returned it in the same condition we found it in. One month later, we received a claim and bill for over $2,000, stating there was hail damage that the attendant had missed. There were pictures of damage which would have been impossible to miss. Furthermore, it did not hail at the time we were there. It appears as if someone who rented the car after us incurred damage from a hailstorm, but ACE is trying to stick us with the bill. I am in the process of disputing this.

I was given a confirmation number and instructions for how to get the car upon arrival at the airport. Once I landed, I called and reached a recording that stated their hours of operation - regular business hours. I am appalled that this is even legal.

I rented from ACE in Las Vegas because of the price. When we got there, we were harangued and threatened non-stop to take their insurance. Their agents are rude, and insist their policy is that if their car is out of service for any reason after your rental, they will charge YOU for every day the car is out if you don't take their insurance. I've been renting cars for 30 years and this is BY FAR, and without question, the worst experience I have ever had. If there were negative stars, ACE would earn them. The. Worst.

I rented a car with ACE Rent A Car in Honduras Ramon Villeda Morales Airport. The day I had to dropped my flight left at 6:30 am and the offices will be at 8:00 am and I left my sister in charge of delivering the car since I also couldn't be on the phone because I would board the plane and when They delivered the car and said everything was fine. But 3 hours later they said that the car had damages and one of the managers named Ruth was very rude to my sister and even made fun of her when my she told her to explain why 3 hours Later they said it had damage, why didn't they do it at the time they checked it? The employee Ruth is a terrible customer service since the first time I rented a car with them she helped me and she also behaved very rude and what can I say? If you are going to rent a car with this agency, be careful. It's not fun that 3 hours after you deliver the car they tell you that it has damages.

On 11/6/23, I rented a car from ACE Car Rental in Rosemont IL. This was not a pleasant experience by far. The first car smelled of smoke so bad that I could not sit in it. The second car I drove off the lot with but had to return it within 2 hours because the check engine light came on. The third car was moderately okay. I along with my sister return the car on Thursday November 9th. The Ace Rental Rep checked in the vehicle inside and outside with my sister and I present. No dashboard lights, no dents, or scratches. Everting was check as passing.
On 3/12/24, I received an envelope in the mail from PurCo Fleet Service, stating I owe $2,105.95 for “Wrong Gas” for lost time of vehicle. I called Davin **, claims specialist from the PurCo Company, he proceeded to tell me that the check engine light came on the next day and the vehicle was taken to the dealership and Ace was told that diesel gas was why the check engine light came on. I told Davin that I never put diesel in the car, why would I do that? He asked me if I had the receipts for the gas. I said it is four months later, why would I still have those receipts. I told him they were just trying to swindle money from me. I told him when I checked the vehicle in, there were no lights on the dash, so all of a sudden, the light came on the next day.
I asked Davin had he or anyone tried to contact me about this issue, and he stated yes that he had called me several times. I told him he was a liar, "If you called, why did you not leave a message if you are calling someone to get money." I pulled all my phone records from November 2023 - March of 2024, and I have no calls from PurCo or Ace Rental. My husband also researched and found out that if you are stupid enough (I am NOT) to put diesel in a vehicle, the car will immediately start to act up and shut down. So, tell me how it is possible that I drove over 40 minutes to the Rental Car Agency and had no issue with the car if diesel was in it.

Terrible experience at location in NYC. Their pickup service from JFK had to be called twice. Long wait at their location with several other customers, many of whom were having problems obtaining their rentals as well. The week before we responded to their email to provide proof of our insurance coverage through a third party verification process and were informed all was set. Once we were on their location and finally able to talk with desk agent he had no knowledge of this verification process. Our options then were to provide a copy of our insurance (insurance card was not sufficient) or buy insurance at the desk $300+. We chose to go elsewhere and they were at least good enough to allow us to ride their shuttle back to JFK. We went to Enterprise onsite and how a most pleasurable experience and were on our way from their desk within 15 minutes. Ace is not an option I would even remotely recommend. BTW we had a similar experience with their sister company, Fox, previously in Florida.
