Enter the Fire Sanctuary and save at the bird statue on your right.

The green plant pods around here will drop water if you hit them with something — the Beetle, Slingshot, Clawshot, and Bow all work.
Hit the pod over the lava pool to create a temporary platform. Sprint across.
At the river of lava, shoot the pod to your left. Ride the stone raft around the corner. At the end, hop off and deal with the Bokoblins as you make your way back to the north. Open the chest at the end for a Small Key.
Small Key 2

Drop off the ledge and speak with Guld. He’ll tell you to:
Look for the two statues that face one another … and jump into the mouth of the sleeping statue.
Use the key on the door to your right (north) and save at the bird statue. Head right and around the corner.
When you come to the T-intersection, head left for a red rupee. Backtrack to the intersection, and take the right (east) this time.

In the round(ish) room with a lava floor, run over and stand on the rock. A Magmanos will rise up beneath you and lift the rock. Hop off onto the ledge.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Turn left and climb the first set of vines. Continue south and west. Before you climb onto the next vine wall, shoot the Bokoblin at the far end. Use the vines to climb to your right all the way to the end.
Drop off the ledge, save at the bird statue, and go through the door.

Deal with the Dark Lizalfos on the bridge, and continue west.

In the next room, clear out the enemies. There’s a tunnel on the southern wall that curves around to the north.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Fly your Beetle through the tunnel, pick up a Bomb Flower on the way, and crash it into the lion-head statue on the northern wall.
Hit the plant pod to create a raft, and ride it to the west. At the end, take the door to the north.

You’ll meet Silva, but can’t do anything for him yet. Follow the path right, and Clawshot your way to the chest where you’ll pick up a Small Key. Use the Gust Bellows to destroy the lava, and take the key back to the south. Use it on the door leading west.
Magmanos miniboss fight
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
Follow the path to the right. You’ll have to hack through some more plant pods. Head for the alcove in the south to find a chest with a red rupee inside.
Take the stairs up to the higher level, and look for a chest on the west side with a Monster Horn.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
There’s a frog statue to the north. Look for a water bulb nearby and jab your sword at it. This will let you carry it. Stand close to the frog statue and jab your sword again to throw the water into its mouth.
Head north and save at the bird statue.

Go through the door to your right. You’ll drop into another lava-floored arena. Cross to the east and ride the rock up to the ledge.

Stab a water bulb and drop back to the floor. When one of the Magmanos approaches you, stab again to hit it with the water. While it’s frozen, attack it with your sword to shatter it. Repeat this process on the other hand.
When both hands are defeated, the lava will drain. Take the door to the southwest.
Mogma Mitts
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
Use your whip to pull the switch and rescue Silva. He’ll reward you with the Mogma Mitts.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Head to the north, and use your new Mogma Mitts to burrow.
Work your way over the the exit in the northeast. Save at the bird statue when you emerge.
Dungeon Map
Use your Gust Bellows to blow away the lava patches. There is a burrow entrance over to the east.
Circle around to the left side of the switch and attack the red side. This will move the door out of your way up top. Backtrack and emerge from the same hole.
Go through the gate you just opened, up the stairs, and through the door.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Head right, and stand on the switch to open a shortcut. Head back to the broken bridge and Clawshot across to the east. Go through the door.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Head to the right (south) and look for a spot to burrow. Underground, there are two switches, one to the right and one to the left. Hit them both and then emerge.

In the southeast corner, stab a water pod and carry it onto the platform to the north. Toss it at the frog statue to extinguish the flames, and continue north.

Pull the lever to rescue Bronzi. Open the chest he gives you for the Dungeon Map.
Hidden Room and Moldorm miniboss fight
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
From where you pick up the Dungeon Map, face east. Roll a bomb at the wall to reveal a hidden tunnel. Burrow into the spot inside.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
There’s a centipede-like Moldorm in the tunnels with you this time. Your job is to get behind it and hit the orange ball on its butt three times. You can dash while crawling around, but it’s even better to get its attention, and trick it into crashing into a wall.
When it’s finally dispatched, head to the left side to find the exit. In the next room, open the chest for another Small Key.
Piece of Heart
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
Climb the vines out of the hidden room. Follow the tunnel, and you’ll drop into the room where you got the Dungeon Map from Silva.
Head back to the broken bridge — there’s a Goddess Wall underneath — and continue west.
Save at the bird statue, and use the Small Key on the locked door.
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
Follow the path right and down the stairs. Use the water pod to create a platform, and cross the lava. Take the stairs up and through the door.
Work around to the west side of the next room and burrow into the hole along the western wall.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Crawl to the left and hit the switch. This will trigger a Mogma down in the tunnels with you to run over and reset it. Chase Plats down. When you catch them, you’ll get a chest with a Piece of Heart inside and Plats will open the gate for you.
Inside Fire Sanctuary
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
Step through the gate and face north.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Shoot the water pod to create a raft. Hop across it to continue to the east and the bird statue there. On your way over, step on the switch along the left to open a shortcut.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Burrow into the hole behind the bird statue. Snake your way north until you reach the Bomb Flower. Hit it to the north to unblock the lava. Rush back to the hole to escape the flowing lava.
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
Go through the gate shortcut you just opened, through the door on your right, and down the stairs. Shoot the water pod and ride the raft east.
Hop off and save at the Inside Fire Sanctuary bird statue.
Mysterious Crystals
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
Just south of the bird statue, read the plaque. Continue south, and look over the edge at the two statues. This is the hint you got way back at the beginning — jump into the mouth of the sleeping statue.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Dash and dive off the east side of the platform. Skydive down and a safe spot to land will appear just in front of the sleeping statue.
Take the stairs up. There’s a Goddess Wall at the end of the first hallway. Keep going up.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Go through the door and deal with the pair of Dark Lizalfos. Climb up and head through the door to the east.
Turn right and follow the stairs to the first landing. There’s another Goddess Wall under the stairs.
Take the stairs up. When you run out of stairs, Clawshot to the higher patch of vines. Look to the left for another patch of vines in a small cave. Clawshot over to find a chest with an Evil Crystal inside.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Get back to the stairs. Clawshot to the lower vines, and climb to the right. Take the stairs the rest of the way to the top and go through the door.
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
In the room at the top, read the plaque for your directions:
Bring light to each statue in accordance with the number of wings each possesses
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
Burrow underground. Hold ZL to peek aboveground at the statues as you go.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
When you light all five statues, you’ll release a Moldorm. Dispatch it the same way as the first one.
Head back to the surface, and open the chest for the Mysterious Crystals.
Graphic: Jeffrey Parkin | Sources: Nintendo via Polygon
Exit through the door to the west. Step on the switch to open the gate. Take the stairs to return to the Inside Fire Sanctuary bird statue.
Demon Lord Ghirahim boss fight
Take the Mysterious Crystals up the stairs to open the door leading to this dungeon’s boss fight. After a very melodramatic monologue, you’ll take on Demon Lord Ghirahim again.
Phase 1
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
For the first phase of this fight, Ghirahim will summon two and then four red daggers. These block for him while he also tries to catch your sword.
Hold your sword in one direction to feint, and then swing from the other side while also avoiding the daggers.
Repeat this several times until he draws his swords.
Phase 2
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
The second phase is a little more direct. Ghirahim will hold his swords to block — kind of like a Stalfos. Your job is to swing between the swords so he can’t block.
He’ll periodically summon daggers to throw at you. Just block or swing at them to send them back.
Image: Nintendo via Polygon
He’ll also leap into the air and you’ll lose sight of him. When this happens, dash in a straight line. He’ll miss you when he lands and his swords will get stuck. Attack him a lot while he’s frozen like this — this is where you’ll deal most of your damage.
After enough of this, he’ll get bored and leave.
Once he’s defeated, claim your Heart Container and exit through the door.
Fire Sanctuary
In the Fire Sanctuary, hit the altar with a Skyward Strike. You’ll earn the third Sacred Flame and Fi will upgrade your sword to the Master Sword.
She’ll tell you to head to the Sealed Grounds.
